Holi — the Hindu Spring festival — occurs Friday across the world. In Los Angeles, Hindus and non-Hindus alike take part in events called color festivals. Los Angeles Marathon to take place Sunday

The Los Angeles Marathon will take place March 16 on a route stretching from Dodger Stadium to Century City. The race is expected to begin at 7 a.m., and will last for about six hours and 30 minutes until after the last runner crosses the start line. Runners will follow a course which begins with a loop around Chinatown. From there, they will be directed through Echo park, along portions of Sunset Boulevard, and onto Hollywood Boulevard in Little Armenia. The route shifts back onto Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, and then mainly follows Santa Monica and San Vicente Boulevards into Brentwood

The Los Angeles City Council recently approved $5-billion worth of contracts for LAX's $30-billion overhaul ahead of the 2028 Olympics.
